From Classical to Spiritual is a living legacy project honoring the musical, spiritual, and teaching journey of Dr. Carol Yampolsky. It captures not just performances, but presence — the way music moved through her life, her students, and everyone who sat beside her at the piano.
This project weaves together memories, reflections, and moments from those who know her work and her spirit best.
It is not about perfection or polish.
It is about truth, feeling, and connection.
The Invitation
We invite contributors - current/former students, former colleagues from Howard University & PGPS, friends, and family - to pause, reflect, and speak from where they are.
You don’t need to answer everything. One thought is enough.
Reflection prompts may include:
What comes to mind when you think of Carol at the piano?
How does her music make you feel?
What has she taught you that goes beyond music?
How did her presence shape your confidence, discipline, or spirit?
What does her journey from classical training to spiritual expression mean to you?
Written reflections, voice notes, or short video responses are all welcome.
